Chopta Tungnath

It’s an easy trek and a very good option for beginners, family outdoor camping in summer. Grade is moderate if you are doing it in winters. Tungnath, the Shiva temples is the highest temple in Garhwal Himalayas. Camps at Devria Tal and Chopta. Trail runs all the way parallel to high Himalayas. Camping at Devariya Tal and Chopta is the paradise

Day 01: Delhi to Rishikesh 6-7 hrs

• Delhi to Rishikesh (330m) 6-7 hrs
• Train New Delhi to Haridwar Shatabdi Express.
• Drive Haridwar to Rishikesh (45min )
• Hotel Check in Rishikesh
• Explore Hindu pilgrim town Rishikesh on the bank of river Ganga.
• Overnight Hotel

Day 02: Rishikesh to Devariya Tal 8-9 hrs

• Rishikesh to Devariya Tal 8-9 hrs
• Drive Rishikesh - Sari (6-7 hrs)
• Trek Sari village - Devariya Tal 2 hrs (switch back uphill)
• Camp by beautiful Lake Devariya Tal (2440m).
• Overnight Camp

Day 03: Trek Devariya Tal - Chopta 6-7 hrs

• Trek Devariya Tal - Chopta (3000m) 6-7 hrs.
• First 4-5 hrs Ridge walk up and downhill until Tali (lunch spot), then 30min-1 hr switch back down hill until bridge on stream last part 30min-1 hr switch back uphill to chopta.
• Camp at Chopta meadows (3000m)
• Overnight Camp

Day 04: Trek Chopta to Tungnath to Chandrashilla 6-7 hrs

• Trek Chopta - Tungnath (3680m Lord Shiva temple) 2-3 hrs (Switch back Uphill)
• Trek Tungnath – Chandrashilla (4131m) 1 – 1.5 hrs (Switch back Uphill)
• Chandrashilla – Chopta 2- 2.5 hrs (Switch back downhill)
• Overnight Camp

Day 05: Chopta to Delhi 7-8 hrs

• Drive Chopta – Haridwar 7-8 hrs
• Evening Shatabdi train to Delhi
• Reach Delhi by 10:30pm
